Car Camping at Lostock Dam Holiday Park and Summit Mt Cabre Bald.

Details

On this weekend trip we will stay at Lostock Dam Holiday Park with the option of doing the 17km Mt Cabre Bald Trail on Saturday.

The plan is to arrive at Lostock Dam Caravan Park from 5PM on Friday 19 September. You will need to book your site via the link here. Lostock Dam Caravan Park - Hipcamp in Lostock, New South Wales. Unpowered sites cost $43 per night for one or two people. There is a limit of one vehicle per site so you might as well book for two people and offer a lift to someone. I have booked for two people so I can pickup from Raymond Terrace at about 4.30PM to anyone who needs a lift or I can meet someone in East Gresford.

The holiday park has a basic kiosk and hot showers and flush toilets. Camp fires are also allowed. The holiday park is also located in close proximity to Lostock Dam so you can bring your preferred watercraft if you wish. We will settle into camp and have a camp dinner and beverage around the campfire.

On Saturday the option is to do the Mount Cabre Bald Trail. This 17km trail is an amazing hike around the grass tree forests of the mountain. There is also temperate rainforest and a challenging final ascent of the mountain which affords panoramic views. We will leave at about 9AM to drive the 28km to Mt Cabre Bald Trail and then embark on the 6hour walk. This walk is challenging and is suitable for experienced hikers. You will need to have good hiking shoes, your lunch and snacks and about two litres of water. Also necessary will be a hat and sunscreen and rain jacket if rain is expected. We will be back at Lostock Holiday Park at about 4pm on Saturday.

On Sunday we will leave at about 10AM with the option of having lunch at either East Gresford, Vacy, Paterson or Morpeth on the journey home.

For this trip you will need your camp-cooking gear and all of your food and from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Please also bring your water. Firewood is also appreciated. I will bring a fire pit as well as a large gazebo.

As a car camping trip you can bring your comfort gear so larger sleeping mat, chair and table and tent is a good idea.

There will be a $20 gratuity for this event payable by cash or PayID to 0439543695.

Safety info-I carry a first aid kit, EPIRB and Garmin GPS.
