Wondabyne Station to Pindar Cave and Pindar Falls, hard, 11km return.

Details

This walk leaves from Wondabyne Station and ventures through Brisbane Waters National Park to the to Pindar Cave and nearby Pindar Falls.

The plan is to meet at Wondabyne Station at 9.56AM, this is the time the 8.48AM from Central to Wyong arrives at Wondabyne Station, YOU WILL NEED TO EXIT FROM THE VERY LAST DOOR OF THE TRAIN AT WONDABYNE. We will then climb up Rifle Range Firetrail before turning into Pindar Walking Track. Please note that Pindar Track is a Grade 5 track (recommended for experienced walkers) due to its relative steepness, narrowness and uneven surface. See this link for full details http://www.wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/brisbane-water-national-park/pindar-cave.html

Continuing, we climb to the top of Mount Pindar and are rewarded with views across Broken Bay. We then arrive at Pindar Cave, an impressively large sandstone cave. After the cave we can have lunch at Pindar Falls before making the return journey back to Wondabyne Station, the station is very serene as it's the only one in Australia not accessible by vehicle.

For this walk you will need your lunch and approximately 1.5 litres of water as we follow a ridgeline the whole way to Pindar Cave and there is no guaranteed water. Also required are good walking shoes and hat/sunscreen.

There are no toilets or facilities of any kind after we leave the train.

There is a $5 gratuity for this walk, payable in cash at the Wondabyne Station starting point.
