Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary and Mt White Circuit

Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary is a family owned wildlife park that is relatively close to Sydney. I visited the sanctuary about two years ago and was impressed enough to think it an idea to do an Aussie Explorers Meetup here.

The plan is to meet at the entrance to the sanctuary at 9.45AM. You can purchase your entry tickets at the park for $40 per adult or you can buy online here for $38. Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary – Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park is Australia's largest working wildlife sanctuary … You never know which animal you will meet. Concession entry is $32 at the gate or $30 online.

For your entry you get to see a surprisingly large amount of animals, most of these being native species. Featured mammals are Kangaroos, Koalas, Emus, Quolls and Tasmanian Devils to name a few. There are also a large number of birds, reptiles, frogs, insects and spiders to see.

You can also book "speed dates" and "special passes" which are special encounters with the animals. These are $44 for encounters with Tawny Frogmouths, Sugar Gliders, Pythons, Echidnas, Possums, Cockatoos, Macaws and Bilbies and $99 for Tasmanian Devils, Servals, Wombats. Dingoes and Meerkats. The park also has a kiosk that sells pies, sandwiches and coffee however you are free to ring your own lunch if you want.

I will also lead a 1.5km guided walk that visits some indigenous cave paintings and a lookout towards Mount White.
