A bit of an adventure if you are up for it! Starting from Waterfall Station we head into the Royal National Park onto Forest Path a beautiful shaded path that does a full loop around Forest Island, at the far end we branch off to the Palona picnic area and down towards Palona Cave, the real adventure starts! That is if I can remember to turn off...

We can explore the cave and its surroundings, will make for amazing selfies and photos. After lunch and a fair bit of exploring head back onto the Forest Path loop track to Waterfall Station and our train home.

About 14km some steep sections and rough track in places, maybe scrambling at the cave etc, possible leaches too! Oh a water crossing but usually OK. No bail out points sorry!
