Blue Mountains Adventure! Faulconbridge to Blaxland via Lost World Lookout!

This is not only one of the best walks in the Lower Mountains, it’s also one of the quietest.
We meet at Faulconbridge Train Station at 9.05am, on top of the stairs after tapping off (train leaves Central at 7.28am from Platform 7).
From here we head down Sir Henrys Parade to the Corridor of Oaks Park where the trail begins.
We take Victory Track, which has a few bush stairs initially but leads down toward a dell with a narrow creek that soon drops over Clarinda Falls. The air will be thick with birdsong at this point, and this part of the walk follows watercourses, criss-crossing them with many shallow fords along its length. We will see that the rainforest here is home to many lofty and elegant trees that soar straight up for about 30 metres before the first branches.
We will stop at Victory Track Pool for a break and a swim.
Then we will walk along Glenbrook Creek, cross it and make our way up the first 200+m climb to Buyan Lookout and then a further 20 mins walk to the Lost World Lookout where we will have lunch.
After lunch we continue via the Bullant Track and descend (200m) back down to Glenbrook Creek and make our way up the second 200+m climb to Blaxland.
We will aim to return to Blaxland by 4.00pm.

DISTANCE: About 18 kms.
GRADE: Hard, due to no water refills and 2 significant (200+m) climbs.
NOTE: Only one get out point, but need to do a 200+ metre climb.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
· Be Prepared: Wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring 2-3 litres of water (no refill points available) and dress for the weather.
· Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight.
· Being a National Park, we leave nothing behind (even if its organic!) and take nothing with us when we leave.
