Central Coast Epic - Wondabyne to Woy Woy: Kariong Brook Falls + Mt Wondabyne!

This is a classic adventure bushwalk. The scenic bush locations deep within Brisbane Waters National Park, are not to be missed!
The walk will start at Wondabyne Train Station, which is the only train station in NSW not to have road access.
If you are coming from Central, the train leaves at 7:48AM from Platform 10, arriving at Wondabyne at 8:57AM (please check time and platform number closer to the day).
WONDABYNE IS A REMOTE TRAIN STATION. YOU MUST BE IN THE LAST TRAIN CARRIAGE (CAR 10) TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT AT WONDABYNE.
From Wondabyne Train Station, we climb up to the local ridge to Rifle Range Trail which we follow to Hawkesbury Track to Kariong Brook Falls where we stop for lunch. This is an amazingly quiet bush location!
After lunch, we climb out and head towards Mount Wondabyne itself, which we climb (it’s an easy climb) for incredible views east to Woy Woy.
After that, it’s a fairly easy 7km descend to Woy Woy Train Station. Only the final 3kms is suburban.
If joining the train from another station, remember to ride in the rear-most carriage (Car 10) in the direction of travel.
We will aim to finish at Woy Woy Train Station by 3.30pm, from which we can go for a drink or catch a train back to Central (they run every 30 mins or so).

DISTANCE: About 16 kms.
GRADE: Medium/hard. There are some moderate climbs.
NOTE: No exit options along the way. Please let the Host know if you leave the walk.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
· Be Prepared: Wear comfortable shoes, bring 2-3L of water and dress for the weather. I would recommend lunch, snacks, hydralyte tablets and sun protection.
· Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight.
