Details
RSVP on Meetup alone does not reserve a spot on the trip!
Inks Lake State Park https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/inks-lake
is the gem of the Texas Hill Country. This park gets some of the best and widest variety of flowers, which show off beautifully against the red granite landscape.

On Monday we will hike a 5 mile loop trail at a moderately brisk pace on rugged terrain. The rest of the time will be free to explore on your own. Swimming is popular (NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY), as is fishing. The park rents kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats, or bring your own. Skies are excellent for stargazing. No dogs.
Everyone must supply their own transportation, camping gear & food. There will be a few shared stoves. We will try our best to not use disposable plates, bowls etc. or single use plastic beverage containers in an effort to curb global warming. Carpooling is encouraged, but not organized by the Sierra Club. We have 2 large lakeside campsites reserved with restrooms with showers nearby.
Everyone is responsible for their own $7 park entry fee. Camping fee for 2 nights is $20 (nonrefundable) - see below. Income which exceeds expenses will be donated to the Sierra Club to support our conservation work. There is also a parking fee for all the cars that exceed 2 per campsite limit, so carpooling is economical as well as ecological.
