Winter Solstice Celebration - Drumming up the Sun - Red Rocks

Hello Authentic Relaters of Denver! We will be celebrating the winter solstice (Sunday December 21st) with the greater Denver community for Drumming Up the Sun sunrise at Red Rocks.

Every year hundreds of folks gather in celebration of the Winter Solstice by drumming up the sun (i.e large community drum circle at sunrise) on the first day of winter at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Bring your drum and musical spirit!

This community event is much larger than just AR Denver, but we have had great fun having our presence there. All are welcome to join. After the sun rises, we will disperse or grab breakfast if people are interested.

WHEN? Sunday - December 21st - 6:30am - 8:00am
WHERE? Red Rocks Amphitheater.
AR Denver will meet on the left side of row 50.

RSVPS! This event is not hosted by AR Denver so you can just show up without RSVPing. Please only RSVP if you plan to meet us (AR Denver). Do not RSVP if you have no intention of finding us, because we will use the RSVP list to keep an eye out for you.

SCHEDULE:
6:30 - Arrive at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Park in the parking lot of your choice. The Upper North Lot has the least amount of stairs to climb.
6:45 - Climb to Row 50. Find us on the left side. Start Drumming
7:15 - Sun Rises
7:45 - Leave Red Rocks

What to expect?

• Hundreds of people banging on drums and celebrating as the sun rises.
• It will be cold (bring gloves, hat, jacket, blankets).
• If the weather is bad, we may forgo our presence at the event.
• BYOD (Bring your own Drum, or if you don't have one, just your spirit and we can share drums!).
