- May Boulder Green Drinks Event : Regenerative Farm TourNeeds location
Hi Friends,
Happy Spring! Please join us for this special event!
This month we are going Longmont to visit a regenerative farm!
Kris and Becca started Lazy Acres Ranch when they moved onto a 6 acre horse property near Longmont CO. The land was overrun with undesirable plants and the overall soil health was very poor. As first generation ranchers they have utilized Holistic Management, Permaculture and Soil Health principles to guide their operation as they raise regenerative meat, build soil health and plant climate adapted perennials. The need of the land and intrinsic nature of the animals has grown their operation to include rabbit, chicken, pork and lamb. Kris' agricultural journey started as a founding member of the Flatirons Farmers Coalition where he gained an understanding of the needs of our local producers and the many burdens they face. This experience led him to opening Boulder County's first Agricultural Rental business, the Tool Library LLC. The Tool Library aims to reduce the equipment burden faced by many farmers through affordable equipment access. Becca started and ran an urban farm in New Orleans for 4 seasons, raising rabbits, chickens and growing vegetables for the community. When she moved to Colorado she had to relearn everything she knew about growing food in this climate. Kris and Becca enjoy sharing what they have learned by hosting volunteers and hiring interns where individuals can get their hands dirty and see what it really takes to raise regenerative local food. They believe that raising animals in an environment where they can do what they love produces the highest quality food for their family and the community all while sequestering carbon and providing habitat for nature.

3) Event Calendar
-----------------
For those of you who are looking for canyoneering events, festivals and rondys - I set up a new Google Calendar to provide a consolidated view. I added all of the events I knew about, and reached out to other event organizers as well. If you notice any events missing, please let me know (and please let me know who the contact is for the event if you know it.) Here's a link that you can use to just look at the calendar in a web browser:
https://tinyurl.com/SeeCanyonFestsNote: That link should also allow you to add the calendar (as a separate calendar) to your Google Account's Calendar (or copy an event to your personal calendar.) You can also use this URL to add the calendar: https://tinyurl.com/AddCanyonFests
If you are an event organizer, and want to add or maintain your own events - please reach out. I'm happy to add you as an editor, so you can add your event, and include any details you would like. You can also see what events are already planned, so event organizers can try to avoid overlapping with other events.
Feel free to comment with any questions, or PM me and I'll do what I can to help.
Take care,
A.J. - Training
