Hopeful Snowy Hike in the Dismal Swamp
Details
Let’s do this!
Hopefully a snowy hike. 🤞
I found some boots, so I’m willing to give it a go.
9.5 mile O&B to Lake Drummond. Flat, straight & tree root free. Doesn’t get much easier & that’s why a snow trek makes sense here. 2 dirt tire tracks & grass is our path.
Markers every .5 miles, so if you want to cut it short feel free.
Dogs must be leashed if bringing.
20 min/mile is my usual pace, but possibly a little slower in these conditions.
As always…
What you carry in, you carry out.
Snack, water & proper attire
recommended.
Free parking with permanent restroom. Not claiming it’s luxurious tho.
Black Cadillac with trunk open is me.
Internet is iffy out there. I can’t wait & be checking FB & MU chats. Be early so we can roll out on time.
If you’re late, it’s a straight path/road continuing from parking lot. You’ll eventually meet up with us. Can’t really get lost. Go straight 4+ miles until you see the lake.
Washington Ditch Trailhead is at the end of the gravel Washington Ditch Rd. (off of White Marsh Rd.) in Suffolk.
