Baba Yaga Motanka Doll Workshop

My Wild Creators!
Welcome to Baba Yaga Workshop, where we will create a traditional Slavic Motanka doll and call on the wisdom and guidance of the Slavic forest witch! We won't need to sew at all! Motanka dolls are created by neatly tying up all the pieces together. Motanka means tangled in Slavic languages.

This is a guided process during which you will awaken your inner wisdom through creative soul-searching with Baba Yaga. Find the courage to enter the dialogue with your inner Witch (or Witcher), offend yourself, ground your energy, let the light of our truth resurface from behind the veil of self-illusion, and create a doll that will bring you luck, love, and prosperity in the year of the Red Horse!

ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED, but preparation before the workshop will deepen your process. If you can, find a piece of a solid stick, about 10-12 inches long, for your Baba Yaga and branches to make a broom. You can also bring any scraps of materials, yarns, treads, fun fabrics, as well as offerings - gems, jewelry, flowers, etc...
