Pitch Me This: A Room Full of Readers & Their Favourite Reads

An event to meet fellow book lovers in Barcelona!

Ever wonder how someone ends up choosing their next great read?
Booksellers' recommendations, literary prizes, TikTok, or that one friend who won’t shut up about a novel? We’re flipping the script and putting the power in your hands. Join us for a lighthearted evening of bookish storytelling where readers take the spotlight to pitch a recent or all-time favourite book — in 3 minutes or less.

Here’s how it works:
When you sign up, we’ll ask you to share the title of the book you’d like to pitch. We’ll prep your name and book in advance and drop them into our Pitch Bowl. At the event, we’ll start by drawing a name from the audience — whoever is called can come up and give their best elevator pitch to convince the room why they should read this book next. One of our booksellers will kick things off with a pitch of their own to break the ice.

The vibe is casual, fun, and welcoming. No need to be a public speaking pro — just bring your love for a great story. Sharing is caring, especially when it comes to books.

We’ll run pitches from 6:00 to 6:45 pm, then invite everyone to mingle, browse the Community Picks Table, and write down their own book recommendations for others to discover. If we don’t get through all the names in the bowl, no worries — you’ll be invited to jot down your book title and two short sentences about why someone should read it, so your pick can still be part of the conversation.

Complimentary glasses of wine will be available — because what pairs better with book talk than a good pour?
