Connect & Create - BYO Project - Bulimba Library

Event Update: Free to attend however a gold coin donation would help a lot with meetup fees.

This is a Bring Your Own Project event where I encourage you to bring along whatever art or craft project you’re currently working on. Alternatively, use this space to challenge yourself to start something new! I (Tash) will be bringing communal oil pastels and a pad of A3 paper every week that you’re welcome to experiment with, or if you forget your own supplies.

As we are in a library meeting room, spots are limited so please keep your RSVP current. Also, keep your project to arts and crafts that don’t cause big, wet messes (think more drawing, knitting, weaving, junk journaling, watercolour and less oil, acrylic paint, clay etc.)

Bad Art Group is all about letting you feel safe to create bad art without the fear of judgement. Sometimes we need to let ourselves make garbage art in order to bypass our perfectionistic tendencies! This group is about combining creativity with socialisation and accountability. We place a higher priority on connection over outcomes.

This space is a great place to practice your social skills with the support of relaxed doodling/creating. It tends to attract neurodivergent folk who struggle to fit in with other groups. So, know that if this sounds like you, you’ll fit right in! Any age, any gender, any skill level. We talk about art and life and everything in between!

Come enjoy the cozy atmosphere, coffee, tea, and the relaxed company. I can’t wait to meet you!

Note: This room is not inside the library, it is downstairs, accessible externally. There are toilets inside the space too!

The door scanner beeps a lot if we leave the door open and the door locks if it is shut, so if you are running late the door will likely be shut to stop the incessant beeping. Just knock on the door and we’ll let you in 😊
