Friends Going Coastal -- Tide Pool Foraging trip, Santa Cruz
Laguna Creek Beach, Santa Cruz, CA, USTownFlame & Friends going coastal -- Tide pool Foraging, this coming Sat. Jan 31st, 1:30pm, at Laguna Creek Beach, Santa Cruz.
WhatsApp channel:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/GWqOvFlO9DREpDDCcMzBgl
There are a string of beautiful beaches up and down the Santa Cruz coast, many of them are open to tide pool foraging, as long as you have a valid fishing license, purchasable at: https://wildlife.ca.gov Recommend the yearly license, more economical as we may make this a series.
We are doing intro to tide pool life, and demo the foraging of them & related rules, mollusks, sea weeds, crabs etc. etc.. This was meant for a side act of planned outdoor volunteering with CA state park, yet it became so popular all the slots filled up already, so we open this up as the main act. Check out the link below for a starter.
https://lookout.co/mussels-guide-to-foraging-for-mussels-santa-cruz-county/story
Beginner equipment if you plan to forage:
- A pair of water resistant gloves
- A bucket or plastic bag
Family friendly, so bring your friends. The lowest tide is at 3:40pm. There could be rogue waves from the ocean, so always use caution and take care of your family members. We are not responsible or be liable for that.
Come to enjoy the blue pacific & the green spring coast with us!
Date:
Jan 31st, 1:30pm
Location:
Laguna Creek Beach, Santa Cruz.
Turn right after you get on the beach, till you find the mussel bed
