What we’re about
Bay Area House Concerts is where hosts, performers and lovers of live music connect to make magic happen. The events posted here are unique "listening room" opportunities, each of which is organized slightly differently but always in an intimate setting.
Note these are limited capacity concerts so each RSVP matters, If a host has confirmed they are expecting you, and agreed to let you "pay at the door," it is never okay to no-show without making the expected financial contribution.
If you are not yet a co-organizer but host house concerts and would like to post your events here, please contact our lead organizer (Winter Williams) directly to discuss contributing to the shared cost of maintaining this Meetup group,
The following are organizers who choose to have listed their websites and other contact information below:

- FogHouse Presents - Phoebe Hunt & Dominick LeslieThe FogHouse, San Francisco, CA
Fans of the FogHouse and Hardly Strictly will be please to know that long time alumni (2015!) Phoebe Hunt & Dominick Leslie will be returning to play both!!
We met these star struck musicians over 10 years ago and that star continues to shine bright. This time they will be visiting us as parents to little Vassar (destined to be a fiddler no doubt).
For fans of HSB you’ll have an opportunity to see them playing with the Sam Grismon Project. But for the ultimate experience join us before the festival for an intimate evening in the best setting of all, my living room!
Phoebe Hunt & Dominick Leslie are a rare conversation between voice, fiddle, and mandolin—equal parts songcraft, improvisation, and heart. Hunt is a Texas-raised, Nashville-based artist whose 2017 LP Shanti’s Shadow drew praise from Rolling Stone and the Austin Chronicle for its adventurous blend of roots and global colors; her 2023 album Nothing Else Matters distills that vision to voice and violin alone.
Leslie, a dazzling picker known best for his work with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, is a two-time Best Bluegrass Album Grammy band member and one of his generation’s standout mandolin voices; he first turned heads winning the RockyGrass Mandolin Contest at 14, the event’s youngest champion.
As a duo, they’ve appeared at the Austin Music Awards in a “borderless love” segment and on major festival lineups including Telluride Bluegrass—bringing songs that breathe, burn, and bloom in real time. Expect sparkling interplay, vivid lyrics, and the kind of chemistry that only miles, craft, and devotion can forge.

-Steve & April - House Concert Featuring Rachel Barton and Jaden LehmanMy Living Room, San Rafael, CA
Please join me for my next house concert featuring Bay Area native Rachel Barton, and Florida-born Jaden Lehman, now both based in Los Angeles and enrolled at USC's Thornton School of Music.
Rachel has been singing and writing songs since she was 6 years old and has always known that music was her calling. Her songs blend vivid storytelling with beautiful melodies, all told with her wildly evocative and emotional voice, moving seamlessly between folk, indie, pop, and classic singer-songwriter. Rachel is currently working on her next EP, set to release in Spring of 2026, featuring songs that explore themes of belonging, escape, people pleasing, and fumbling through life with grace and humility. Listen to Rachel on Spotify here.
Jaden is a guitarist rooted in South Florida’s jamband scene. He developed a soulful, improvisation-driven style that pervades all his musical endeavors, from supporting roles to leading his own projects. His original music fuses influences from folk, funk, and West African music into a distinctive sound. His debut album, Reflection, features legendary bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company, Allman Brothers Band), and in 2024, Jaden traveled to Iceland to record on Oteil’s upcoming album at Floki Studios. He is currently working on an instrumental album with Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars, The Black Crowes). Listen to Jaden on Spotify here.
Together Rachel and Jaden meld their styles and have co-written and recorded several songs. They’ve been playing shows all around LA to much acclaim, and tonight, they’ll both be playing their individual original music as well as some of the songs they’ve written together.
Donations are $25 per person in cash at the door, or please Venmo the artist directly @rachel-barton-0.As is custom with house concerts, please bring a beverage, appetizer or dessert to share. But please, NO RED WINE to save my carpet from that after-show blush!
- An Afternoon of Roots & BluesThe Fog(less) House, San Mateo, CA
David Jacobs-Strain and Bob Beach are a multigenerational, bicoastal duo who have been performing together since 2010. They currently perform between 70 and 100 shows a year on both east and west coasts, delighting and bewildering roots music lovers.
David Jacob-Strain is a striking slide guitar player and song poet from Eugene, Oregon. His deep love of blues and roots music is evident in every one of the songs he writes. He studied masters like Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal and Jackson Browne, but plays his own sound, his own song, with a virtuosity that is uniquely his. David began playing on street corners and at farmers markets as a teenager, and bought his first steel guitar with the quarters he saved up. Before he dropped out of Stanford to play full time, he had already appeared at festivals across the country, often billed as a blues prodigy, but he had to fight to avoid being a novelty act: “I wanted to tell new stories, it just wasn’t enough to relive the feelings in other people’s music.”
David Jacobs-Strain has appeared at Merlefest, Telluride Blues Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly, Bumbershoot, and Blues to Bop in Switzerland. On the road, he’s shared the stage with Lucinda Williams, Boz Scaggs (more than 60 shows), Etta James, The Doobie Brothers, George Thorogood, Robert Earle Keen, Todd Snider, Taj Mahal, Janis Ian, Tommy Emmanuel, Bob Weir, T-Bone Burnett, and Del McCoury.
Bob Beach plays harmonica with calm fierceness. A mouth-harp maestro who swaggers into a solo like The Marlboro Man, then quietly leaves the set while the rest of us wonder what just happened and how such a tiny instrument could possibly sound like that. Bob has been a working professional musician for more than 40 years bringing harmonica, flute, and vocals to a broad scope of genres.
A native Philadelphian, Bob relocated to Western PA after high school and worked in bands and musical projects from 1976 to 1997 while based in Pittsburgh. As a sideman, he has recorded or performed with acts such as; Ollabelle, Langhorne Slim, The Avett Brothers, Pat Wictor, Beaucoup Blue, Fruit and many more. Bob was also a sound engineer at The World Café Live music venue for 15 years. Bob Beach is a working musician who carved out his own career on his own terms, raised a daughter, stayed married 40 years, and is still playing for the love of it. The heart of it. The fun of it.
Together, David and Bob play unrestrained and from the heart. “Have you ever seen anything like this before?” Wait. Just wait until you see them live.
(David) ‘just one of these guys who is in his own class. A great singer and guitar player.’
Jorma Kaukonen“David Jacobs-Strain and Bob Beach blew me away … they knocked my hat in the creek.”
