Details

Light dinner served at 6:30pm PT. Feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We strive to support both in-person and remote attendance, so we'll also fire up the Zoom at that point to support virtual socializing.

Abstract

In this talk, I will explore the possibility (pros/cons) of AI digital twins as our ultimate human-computer interface for the future.
As the marginal cost of computing goes to zero, there will be an explosion in digital service offerings aimed at helping us transform into better future versions of ourselves (healthier, wealthier, and wiser).

The emerging transdisciplinary field of service science offers a useful lens for exploring these possibilities. Homework: re-watch the Apple Knowledge Navigator video (https://youtu.be/umJsITGzXd0), and imagine your AI Digital Twin in place of the guy with the bow-tie, and colleagues digital twins and your having thousands of conversations in the time the real conversation happens.

Bio

Jim is a retired from IBM (Director Open Source AI) & Apple (Learning Platforms & Authoring Tools), with a PhD in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence from Yale and a BS in Physics MIT.
