Men's Walk- Seaford to Eastbourne via Seven Sisters
Details
Please read the details below so that you are prepared for the walk.
For Men’s Mental Health Month, Trunks and Hunks, Mankind and the Beachy Head Ambassadors are organising a group walk from Seaford to Eastbourne via the Seven Sisters for men. It’s an opportunity for men to talk, listen and experience the benefits of getting outdoors and coming together with others.
This is a long walk of about 13 miles with a lot of steep inclines, so be aware that you may want to only do part of the walk rather than all of it. It will be possible to get the bus from Seven Sister’s Country Park or Crowlink. As it is a Saturday, no public buses will be running from Birling Gap or Beachy Head.
Timings:
8am - Meet at Seaford Train Station
8.30 - Splash Point - photo opportunity and explanation of what’s it about and introduction to groups
10.15-10.30 - Exceat Bridge
10.30 to 10.45 - Exceat/Seven Sisters visitors centre and toilets
10.45 to 11.00 - Seven Sisters VC depart
13:00 - arrive at Birling Gap and lunch stop
13:30 - depart Birling Gap
14:30 - arrive at Beachy Head
15:00 to 15:30 - arrive Helen Gardens
We will hopefully get a bright sunny day but be prepared for cold/ wet weather! If the weather forecast is looking very wet or windy we will make the decision to cancel the walk on 21st November, so please check here for any updates.
You should bring:
· Good trainers/walking boots
· Trousers/shorts, preferably no jeans (wet and cold)
· Waterproof and if wet, waterproof trousers
· Hat and possibly gloves and scarf
· Spare layer
· Water/hot drink
· Food/lunch/snacks avoids delay at cafes on way and we stay together and eat together - powerful act of breaking bread.
· Rucksack if possible for above.
· Walking stick/pole (if you have them)
This will be a fun and uplifting experience and a challenge to set yourself. Come along with a mate or by yourself and get to know others! We are excited to see you there!
