About us
This group is specifically designed for women in their 30’s and 40’s who are hoping to make new friends. If you’re like me, you might find that this has become much more difficult the older you’ve become. Which is why I’ve created this group. My hope is that we can create friendships that will form a true community.
The group is based in Beaverton but events will be in Portland and surrounding neighborhoods as well. Events will vary from grabbing coffee to hikes (once the weather is nicer) to maybe going to a museum. I am very open to ideas on events so please feel free to shoot me a message!
I will be pretty strict about no-shows. This has been a problem in all of the Meetup groups I’ve been a part of in the past and I think it’s unnecessary. I will allow 3 no-shows but then I will remove you from the group. I feel it is disrespectful to the others to make everyone wait for someone who wasn’t planning to show up. So please, if something comes up and your plans change - just RSVP “no” or send me a message. It’s totally understandable, even last minute changes are quite okay. Just don’t no-show, that is all I ask. :)

Itinerary:
Everyone needs to meet at the the Falls Creek Falls Trailhead (NF-3062, Carson, WA 98610). We will wait till 9:15am or so, then hit the trail!- Hike: This is about a 2 hr. hike, it’s easy-moderate, 3.4-mile, out-and-back hike along beautiful Falls Creek leads to one of southern Washington’s highest waterfalls, 200-foot (total) Falls Creek Falls. The hike gains ~800 feet in elevation.
- Parking: Recreation Passes you need to get ahead of time are Digital Day Pass (Day Use: $5 per vehicle per day) or Northwest Forest Pass.
- **Important: To get to Falls Creek Falls trailhead and To Guler Ice Caves you will not have cell reception for a large portion of the drive, so be sure to have google maps/Waze route preprogrammed or even print out a copy of your route ahead of time to be sure.
We will then travel 1hr 30min, to Guler Ice Cave (Guler Ice Caves, Trout Lake, WA 98650)- Ever wanted to walk/hike a cave that is iced all year round? This is your chance! As the name implies, we will be going down into a lava tube/cave that is iced over, think huge ice columns from floor ceiling. We will be walking very slowly and taking our time (1.5hrs).
We should get done with the cave around 3:15pm, and then drive 40min. to Everybody's Brewery in White Salmon (177 East Jewett Blvd, White Salmon WA, 98672) for food and drinks. We will head back to PDX afterwards.
