I have to change the date of this hike because there is a 50% chance of rain and 16% chance of thunderstorms this Sunday. ** The new date is November 12th and the hike starts at 11 AM. Apologies for the change. Meetup will send an automatic adjustment to the date, but please make this change in your personal calendars as soon as you read this message. If this new date doesn’t work for you, change your RSVP ASAP. You will remain on the attendee list for this new date unless you change your RSVP.
🍂🥾 Join me for a scenic 3 mile out and back hike along the river trail at Smith Rock followed by a lunch in Redmond at Blacksmith Public House! With cooler temperatures, this is an especially popular destination! There are amazing views of rock climbers. 🧗♂️
From the parking lot, there is a sort of steep section that takes us down to where we cross the bridge that takes us to the river trail. Please bring appropriate footwear.
This will be an easy-going pace with stops to watch the climbers along the trail. This trail is mostly flat. Hiking poles not necessary. Bring water and a snack. The forecast is 47 degrees and sunny. No dogs, please.
Arrive 15 minutes early to allow for parking and so we can start on time.
