Saturday walk: The Plough at Cadsden, Chequers and Whiteleaf Hill

This walk is a bit out-of-the-way but well worth the trip for several spectacular views.

This is an 8 mile walk through a variety of fields & woodland with views all the way!
Starting from the pub’s car park, we head north through Lower Cadsden and the Pulpit Hill Nature Reserve & our first view over Aylesbury Vale. We pick up the Outer Aylesbury Ring to circle Beacon Hill then pass by Ellesborough Church & carry on to the golf course. We take a steady path up to Coombe Hill for more stunning views including Chequers in the distance. It’s then woods for a while as we pass through Low & High Scrubs, Fogsdon & Goodmerhill Woods to Buckmoorend where we will stop for drinks/snacks at the cafe.
After our break we take the Ridgeway through fields & woodland up to Whiteleaf Hill with panoramic views over Princes Ridborough, from the hill, there is a downhill section back to the pub.

Once we return to Cadsden, there is the option to enjoy the hospitality at The Plough. The address for the pub is Cadsden Road, Cadsden, Princes Risborough HP27 0NB. There is quite a tricky turn off the main road and the car park is located after the pub.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals.
