About us

Join our friendly members (and those of other groups) from all over the world for wonderful online tasting events (- or private tastings, see winetastrs.com. Make friends, exchange stories and learn all about beer, wine, cheese and spirits. We organise everything from informal get-togethers to more structured and educational tasting sessions with expert speakers.

We generally chat in English, but discussion often breaks out in German and French as well. There is usually a slide-show with photos and diagrams to help attendees to improve their language skills and fully understand all the facts and figures.

The Wonderful Wines of Piedmont and Liguria!

I am travelling in North-West Italy in February and will return with wines from independent wineries in Piedmont and Liguria. As well as blockbusters such as Barolo, Barbera and Cortese di Gavi, I’m expecting to source some interesting and delicious varietals such as Pigato, Dolcetto, and maybe some grappa and bubbles!
Of course, I’ll be sure to pick up some local cheeses, truffles, focaccia, pesto, and other regional specialities that pair with the wines.

We'll learn all about this astonishing mountain-river-coastal terroir, and the fascinating history starting with the Celto-Ligurians 600 years BCE and influenced by the Greeks, Etruscans, Romans, and Burgundians.

The whole experience (7 wines and plenty of food) will cost you just €35 - you can pay on the night!

Over the years, we've collected more than 1.500 wines on our wine tours and stored them under optimal conditions. We particularly enjoy aging our more expensive premium wines for a longer period, as they only reveal their full potential after several years. "Baby killers" is the nickname given to wine drinkers who consume these premium wines far too young—a term that applies to almost all Grand Cru (Großes Gewächs) wines available in stores or restaurants. We want to open wines with you that have been allowed to mature and have reached their optimal drinking window (after 5-10 years). Unlike with young wines, you'll be able to say: It doesn't get any better than this! ... Just different...
After this event, you'll also want to start cellaring your own wines, because the difference in taste will convince you!

What´s the WeinKüche-Winetasting about?
You and max. 14 other wine fans will be able to taste 10-12 different Wines with a full "Brotzeit" or small dishes in our private flat in Berlin-Mitte…. The best way to end a weekend!
The event will be moderated in german and/or english.

Über die Jahre haben wir auf unseren Weinreisen viele viele Weine gesammelt und bei sehr guten Bedingungen eingelagert. Insbesondere höherpreisige Spitzenweine lassen wir gerne etwas länger reifen, da sie ihr Potential erst nach einigen Jahren offenbaren. "Babymörder" ist der Name für Weintrinker, die Spitzenweine viel zu jung trinken... was eigentlich für fast alle GG zutrifft, die im Handel oder in der normalen Gastronomie gekauft werden können. Wir wollen mit Euch Weine öffnen, die reifen durften und ihr optimales Trinkfenster (nach 5-10 Jahren) erreicht haben. Anders als bei den Jungweinen wird man hier sagen können: Besser wird´s nicht! .. Nur anders...

Nach diesem Event werdet Ihr privat auch anfangen, Weine einzulagern, denn der geschmackliche Vorteil wird Euch überzeugen!
