Free Basic Bike Maintenance Class - Run by Newcastle City Council

Hey guys,
Newcastle Council is holding a free basic bike maintenance class called "Bike Maintenance 1 - Pumped!"
I am not involved in running this event.
I am just spreading the word about these great classes. Hopefully these they will be run again, particularly if there is a lot of interest in them.
Date: Saturday, 14 June, 2025
Time: 2pm-5pm
Where: Adamstown Community Hall/Senior Citizen Hall, 153A Brunker Rd, Adamstown
Registration is essential. Limited spots.

- This is one of four different cycling classes running every weekend in June: safe city cycling, basic bike maintenance, advanced bike maintenance, and Cycling Essentials (how to ride a bike for beginners & rusty riders).

Here is the Council's description for the event:
Learn the essential bike maintenance skills every rider should know. In this hands-on class, you’ll gain the confidence and practical know-how to:
- Keep your tyres properly inflated for a smoother, safer ride
- Fix a puncture and replace tubes and tyres on the go
- Understand key bike parts and terminology
- Plan your route and prepare your bike for different conditions
- Perform simple but vital safety checks to keep your bike roadworthy.
This course is designed for participants aged 12 and over.
What to bring?
Your bike (street-legal e-bikes are welcome) and helmet.
