Free Advanced Bike Maintenance Class - Run by Newcastle Council

Hey guys,
Newcastle Council is holding a free advanced bike maintenance class, called "Bike Maintenance 2 - DIY Maintenance".
I am not involved in running this event.
I am just spreading the word about these great classes. Hopefully they will be run again, particularly if there is a lot of interest in them.
Date: Saturday, 28 June, 2025
Time: 2pm-5pm
Where: Adamstown Community Hall/Senior Citizen Hall, (153A Brunker Road, Adamstown)
Registration is essential. Limited spots.

- If it's booked out, I encourage you to fill out the contact details form on the website, so that Council knows people are interested, and they will contact you about any future classes.
- This is one of four different cycling classes running every weekend in June: safe city cycling, basic bike maintenance, advanced bike maintenance, and Cycling Essentials (how to ride a bike for beginners & rusty riders).

Here is the Council's description for the advanced bike maintenance event:
This hands-on class is designed for riders who want to go beyond the basics and learn how to keep their bike running smoothly with more in-depth maintenance techniques. Guided by professional mechanics, you’ll learn how to:
- Maintain, adjust and replace brake pads and cables
- Clean, lubricate and replace your bike chain
- Adjust gears for better shifting and performance
- Fix a puncture and replace tubes and tyres
- Perform thorough safety checks before every ride
- Understand key bike parts, tools and terminology.
This course is designed for participants aged 12 and over.
What to bring?
Your bike (street-legal e-bikes are welcome) and helmet.
