It is a land-based bike tour (not a bike & barge tour!) during which we will stay in one hotel for the duration of the tour. We will ride in a different direction each day. You'll only have to unpack once!

9 DAYS – Lake Constance Hub & Spoke Bike Tour - Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

If you want to visit picturesque places, unpack once, and enjoy the comfort of a cozy four-star hotel room at the end of each day’s scenic ride, this tour is for you! Easy to reach by direct train from Zurich airport, this tour features daily rides from your hotel “hub” in different directions along your route “spokes”.

Tour Director Stephanie will lead this tour that visits one of her favorite places to cycle, Lake Constance: where Germany, Austria, and Switzerland meet – at the northern foot of the Alps, on the scenic shores of Germany’s largest lake.

A bicycle tour at Lake Constance is a very special experience. You will pass vineyards, fruit orchards, and many other picturesque spots. Our included excursions will include the Zeppelin Museum, with its full-scale replica of the doomed Hindenburg; Momo Cider Museum, where you’ll sip award-winning ciders in their state-of-the-art space; Pfahlbauten, open-air reconstructed prehistoric lakeside dwellings**,** Flower Island of Mainau, with 700 species of exotic plants, flowers and herbs along with a delightful butterfly conservatory; Affenburg Sanctuary, home of 200 free-ranging Barbary apes (who knew?!); a scenic cable car ride up Pfander Mountain and more!

You are welcome to ride with Stephanie or venture out on your own with our route sheets and maps.

The tour begins and ends in Constance (Konstanz), Germany, which can be reached by train from Zurich (ZUR) Airport. We will provide details.

Stephanie will help you prepare by sharing her expertise from years of hosting bike tours throughout Europe. Through virtual MeetUps you'll learn HOW TO: pack light and right, shop for travel insurance, find the hotel, extend your stay in Europe and more!

ENDS: 10:00 AM, AUGUST 18, 2025 in Constance, Germany.
