Murwillumbah to Tyalgum via Tyalgum Rd, Chillingham & Crystal Creek

UPDATED 26/2/24: 50 klms (~ 3.5 hours plus stops) Depart 8.00 am (or earlier?) from KNOX PARK in the heart of Mur'bah. Head out of town on bike paths then west via North Arm Rd (route 34) towards Crystal Creek. Turn left into (unsealed) Chilcotts road (if causeway is passable) then rejoin route 34 to Chillingham. Could stop for a coffee here if all agree. Continue and the LEFT into ZARA Rd (route 36) for descent into Tyalgum.
Have morning tea/brunch/lunch at Tyalgum. Return by heading east onto Tylagum Road to Murwillumbah via Brays Park.
All on road cycling.. 2x 150 m ascents. Some roads could be busy. Tyalgum road is broader but narrow roads through Chillingham. This is also an established route for local bike riders. A shop at Chillingham and at Crystal Creek, but bring plenty of water.
All the usual stuff - bring a helmet, a bike in good condition with spare tyre tube, tools & pump, sun block. Suit riders comfortable with on road riding. Great scenery along the way.
