Parramatta and Back, In a Loop

Details

Intermediate ride along the river to Parramatta, then either catch the train back, or ride back to the Inner West by a more direct route.

Gather at the netball courts just near Hawthorne Light Rail stop (aka dog park). We ride out through Five Dock, West Ryde and Wentworth Point.

Coffee at Wentworth Point, then along the river to Parramatta, or rather,
Alfred Street. I'll ride back from Alfred St under the freeway, then the path at Auburn, Lidcombe, then through Rookwood to join the Cooks River path back to Dulwich Hill Light Rail.

If you want to bail at Alfred St, either the light rail to Carlingford (not far from Epping), the river cat (check tides) or train from Parramatta. Last I looked, the path under the cliff face at Parra was still closed for flood cleaning, but you can still go on the ferry terminal side.

Track work on the city circle that weekend, so you need to change to the Metro to get through the CBD, or Light Rail T1 should be fine.

The whole ride is about 50 km, and just to Parramatta about 30.

It's actually a fairly easy ride, a bit long if you do the whole thing.

Bring a bike in good working order, helmet, water, spare tube. Be prepared to shed layers of clothing as the day warms up.
