Hootenanny Jam Session, every 2nd Saturday

Join us for a Hootenanny jam at the Treehouse Cafe! This twice-monthly jam is the Black Rose's next evolution of the jams we've had at the Treehouse Cafe location on Saturday mornings (2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month) at 10:00 A.M. It replaces the ABAJS jam, which had inconsistent attendance.

What is a hootenanny? A hootenanny in the 60s was a folk music jam, with some songs aimed at promoting civil rights and ending the war. Today, our hootenanny continues the folk music tradition, with a nod to promoting people's rights and freedoms. A good hootenanny song might give understanding to an issue or a situation or a people. It might promote a cause or it might give hope to the oppressed. There is lots of singing, and an emphasis on fun.

P.S. Some notes on the Treehouse Cafe:

• Address is 5965 North Academy, just north of Vickers and Academy.
• Jams are from 10am to noon.
• There may be a donation (tip) bucket. Tips go to the Treehouse Cafe in gratitude for their hosting.
• Please support the Treehouse Cafe by buying food or drink, or just putting some cash in the tip jar.
• Other cafe guests will be present in the room, and as such, we'll be considerate of other customers needs.
