What a BNI Group Does
A BNI (Business Network International) group is a professional business networking organization that helps members grow their businesses through a structured, positive, and supportive referral marketing program. Each group — also known as a “chapter” — is composed of local business professionals from diverse industries, with only one representative per profession to eliminate competition within the group.
The primary goal of a BNI group is to generate qualified business referrals among members. Through regular, structured meetings, members build trusted relationships, share business insights, and exchange referrals that lead to real business growth. BNI operates on the philosophy of “Givers Gain®” — the idea that by helping others succeed, members in turn receive business opportunities.
BNI groups also provide ongoing professional development through leadership roles, workshops, and networking education, helping members refine their communication, presentation, and referral-generation skills.
In essence, a BNI group functions as an extended marketing team — a community of professionals committed to supporting one another’s success through word-of-mouth marketing and trusted business relationships.
