For February we will be meeting at a very special location Cocoa Beach's only brewery. This is a great Microbrewery and has won a bunch of awards for their brews. They were closed for 5 years but recently re-opened and I have to say they are just as good as before.
As for the books we will be reading The Correspondent: A Novel, and A Stitch in Time.
The Correspondent is a novel that tells the life story of Sybil Van Antwerp, a retired law clerk, through her letters and emails to various people, including family, friends, and even authors like Joan Didion. The book explores themes of aging, grief, and forgiveness as Sybil confronts painful memories from her past, forcing her to reconcile with her life and the people in it. It's praised for its witty and moving portrayal of an unforgettable character and has become a New York Times bestseller.
A Stitch in Time by Kelley Armstrong is the first book in a Victorian time-travel romance series, featuring a modern woman, Bronwyn Dale, who inherits Thorne Manor and discovers a time slip that allows her to travel to Victorian times, where she reconnects with a childhood friend, William Thorne, leading to a romance complicated by ghosts, mysteries, and secrets from the past. The series blends romance, ghost stories, and cold-case mysteries, with each book focusing on a different character but continuing the overarching story.
