About the Music
Composer and Singer Shira Laucharoen writes innovative musical theater songs that deal with romantic themes, contradictions in authority, and the ways that we bring the past to life. She will be joined by cellist Sophie Paul, and singer Clara Hevia will also make an appearance. Her melodies are lyrical and evocative, aiming to tell stories that we don't ordinarily hear. For examples, listen to ballads such as "Can't Make This Up," "Stop and Stare," and "The Other Side."

Violinist Pranav Swaroop (recognized by WBUR as one of their Makers in 2024) and his band bring together the soul of Indian Classical music and the pulse of contemporary genres like Electronic music. With years of traditional training and a bold, creative vision, they transform the stage into a soundscape where ragas meet modern rhythms, and tradition meets innovation. Expect a performance that bridges worlds — meditative yet dynamic, timeless yet futuristic.

About the Performers
Shira Laucharoen is an artist of Thai and Italian descent from Somerville, originally born in New York City. She will be joined by cellist Sophie Paul, who also performs with ensembles including the Venus Quartet, Beacon Ensemble, Vibrant Matter Collective, and the Apollo Orchestra. Singer Clara Hevia will also make an appearance. Pranav Swaroop, who was born and raised in Bangalore, will be accompanied by his bandmates, Shivaraj Natraj, a beatboxer, and a soon to be announced musician playing the keyboard.
