Run from Flatirons Vista to Eldorado Canyon
Details
This Saturday we will be running from the Flatirons Vista Trailhead, south of Boulder on CO-93.
ROUTE
From the Flatirons Vista Trailhead we'll include the following trails: Flatirons Vista South, Doudy Draw, Springbrook Loop, Goshawk Ridge, and Fowler to arrive at Eldorado Canyon. We'll then head back using a similar route. We should get around 13 miles of rolling trail, and maybe 1300 ft of gain. Plan for around 3 hours or so.
The shorter option is to turn back at any point and the longer option is to extend further into Eldorado Canyon (or just wonder around for a while).
LOCATION
We will start running from the Flatirons Vista Trailhead (39.9242, -105.2352) at 8:00am. To get there from Boulder, take CO-93 south and the trailhead is on the right just after the intersection with CO-128. Note that there is a $5 parking fee for cars not registered in Boulder County - post a comment below if you'd like to carpool from the free lot near Marshall Mesa (at CO-93 and CO-170).
CONSIDERATIONS
Traction is optional but may be preferred for some sections.
Dogs are allowed; however, there are two sections that would require you to take an alternate route. The South side of Spring Brook and Goshawk are no dogs, but there are alternative routes.
