What we’re about
Please be respectful when you RSVP to events, and only RSVP if you know you will make the event; especially if there is a limited number of spots available. If you end up with three no-shows; whether it's a no call/no show, or a cancel at the last minute; you will be removed from the group.

See all- 4th of July Alpine Climbing & BackpackingIndian Peaks Wilderness Area, Boulder, CO
Thursday we'll backpack into the Indian Peaks.
Friday we'll climb 3rd/4th class peaks from camp.
Saturday we'll either do a rock climb or more 3rd/4th class peak bagging.
Sunday we'll backpack out.Per the Indian Peaks guidebook, the SE buttress of Hiamovi Tower "is one of the best climbs of its grade in the Indian Peaks. Eight roped pitches on good rock and the isolated position combine to produce a comprehensive experience." For anyone not doing the rock climb, the 3rd/4th class route up Hiamovi Mountain & Hiamovi Tower is not bad either.
Getting to base camp involves some work: a 2.5 hour drive from Boulder followed by 6 miles of backpacking with 3,000' of elevation gain & 600' of descent. We're at the same campsite for 3 nights; the middle 2 days of the trip we'll do day climbs from camp.
For the rock climbers in the group, see the description here:

If you're a climber but don't lead on trad gear, there may or may not be a spot on a climbing team for you, depending on who else is going. The permit has a 7 person limit. Since this is not a beginner trip, there will be a bit of screening. If you'd like to go, text Jenya at 832-557-0689 to schedule a time for a quick chat about your skills. If it's a good fit we'll send you a link to a planning doc for details like carpools & group gear.
