What we’re about
Hello everyone. Social group of activities to get out and about in Brisbane and surrounds and make new friends. Very much geared toward social activities, exhibitions, markets, walks, pub trivia type things... not a clubbing group :)
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Brisbane Festival - St Lucia SerenadesDr Mary Mahoney AO Amphitheatre, Brisbane
Event details:
Brisbane Festival is coming in September with a few fun sounding free events. This one sounds really good and relaxing, so long as the weather is good on the day. St Lucia Serenades is an outdoor concert that goes from 4pm-7pm (as far as I can tell by the website). Idea of meetup is very simple - come along with a picnic rug plus any drinks and snacks you would like, enjoy the music and have a chat.In terms of alcohol I’ll leave that up to your discretion. I will not be taking any personal responsibility or liability for anyone consuming BYO alcohol in a public place. The onus will be on you if you want to take that risk.

Dr Mary Mahoney AO Amphitheatre
UQ Lakes, University Dr, St Lucia QLD 4067Meeting point: I will get there early and post location on the day, letting you know what I’m wearing and try to pick an obvious landmark so you can find me.
Start time: 3:45pm to get a nice spot on the grass for a 4pm start time
What to bring: picnic rug, snacks, comfortable clothing and money for whatever you’d like to purchase
End time: 7:00pm approx. depending on how much fun we are havingPersonal disclaimer:
I've run a number of meetups in the past (in Sydney) and attended many more (all over the world), and I have learned it best not to give anyone my phone number straight away. If you need help or are lost on the day, please use the comments section or send me a message using the meetup app. Also, I expect a level of common sense and independence of those attending these events. While I definitely want to be welcoming and help foster conversation, I won't be baby sitting anyone. You need to be responsible for yourself - it's just a common courtesy so that everyone can have a good time. Thanks! - Brisbane Festival - Skylore + Public Art TrailSouthbank Parklands @ The Ferris Wheel, Brisbane
Event details:
Brisbane Festival is coming in September with a few fun sounding free events. Friday after work activity - plan being to have a walk through South Bank, view Public Art Trail popups, watch the Skylore drone light display from river edge which sounds pretty awesome, then catch a City Cat to the Powerhouse in New Farm for a drink and a wander around before going our separate ways.Maybe a little ambitious for a Friday night but let’s see how it goes! This is a long way out so might make adjustments closer to date :)
