5 km riverside walk from New Farm to Holy Triad Buddhist Temple in Albion
Details
Around Breakfast Creek there is Brisbane's oldest house, Brisbane's oldest pub and Brisbane's oldest Buddhist temple (Australia's second oldest and the oldest made with traditional Chinese construction methods). We will do the lovely little 5km riverside walk from New Farm Park to Newstead to visit these historic places.
Where to meet
- In New Farm Park near the New Farm Park Ferry Terminal
- I will have a red ribbon on my backpack
- I will post my phone number on the day
When
- We meet at 9 am for a 9:15 am start (don't be late)
- The walk is around 4.5 kms so it might take a little over an hour
- Then maybe 30 minutes or so looking around
- Afterwards rest and relax and have snacks to share at Newstead Park
Afterwards
The walk ends in Newstead Park. I will walk back to New Farm Park, but people might decide to stay and pay to visit Newstead House (which is very interesting) or take the bus or hire scooter/bike back.
What to bring
- Walking shoes
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Snacks to share
How to get there
There is free parking both in and around New Farm Park as well as bus and ferry.
