Date change: Lunar New Year In Brisbane Botanic Gardens
Details
On Sunday February 15, a celebration of the Lunar Calendar New Year will be held in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens (this is the one on the side of Mount Coot-tha, not the one in the city).
I will also be doing a walk Meetup through the gardens before the show. So if you want to join us for the walk, please RSVP separately

Description published by the Brisbane City Council.
Come along and celebrate a dazzling Lunar New Year spectacular in partnership with 612 ABC Radio Brisbane, featuring special guest MC's Kelly Higgins Devine and Ashwin Segkar, who'll guide you through this unforgettable day igniting the spirit of the Horse with passion, energy and unbridled joy.
Watch in wonder as mesmerising Lion Dancers leap and twirl in a blaze of colour, followed by a high-energy Martial Arts showcase that will leave you breathless. Adelaide's renowned all-female Asian Fusion band Hyoshi in Counterpoint brings their powerful six-piece harmonies, while Dance Masala delivers a dazzling Bollywood showcase with infectious rhythms and shimmering costumes. Be captivated by the enchanting Thai artistry of Peranya and the graceful tradition of Japanese Awa Odori dance. Indigenous all-star duo 2.Za.Crowd bring their powerful storytelling through music, while Brisbane's finest artist DJ Night Palms sets the perfect vibe with chill beats and soulful grooves that carry across the gardens.
Location: The Band Stand, Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha (I will put a map in photos). You need to walk into the gardens to the Amphitheatre to find me.
Time: I aim to get there by 3:30 pm, but entertainment starts at 4 pm
How to find me: I will have a red ribbon on a stick in my backpack, and I will be wearing a red shirt (yes, there will be many people wearing red shirts so look for the red ribbon). I will put my phone number in the comments on the day.
What to bring: Snacks to share, picnic rug/towel to sit on
Getting there: Driving is easy, but if an event is on, parking may be difficult. There are buses from the city that stop at the Botanic Gardens.
Before the event: I will post a separate event at 1 pm for those who want to join me to walk around the gardens before the event
