CSS in JS; Email templates w MJML; Anna G presents the Typescript Debate

Details
Kev is back from his honeymoon and will be presenting the October installment of BrisJS, your favourite Brisbane Javascript meetup!
This month we've got an exciting lineup, so check it out below. This meetup was moved forward 1 week to avoid clashing with the Queens Birthday Holiday on the 2nd of Oct.
• Also remember to keep your RSVP's up to date if your plans change so folks on the waitlist have a chance to attend.
The theme is CSS in JS - Lochlan Bunn - 40 min
Nowadays we write our css in .js files. Howdathunkit?
Lets explore the future of writing reusable ui components for our web apps, by stopping to take a look at the history of css-in-js. Its not a very long history... but it's crammed full of hacks & innovation from all corners of our web community!
Also, since theming is often vital to successful styling, we'll jump into some code to discover patterns to enable the overriding of styles used inside of ui components.
The talk is being given by the unknown web lurker & js fanboy, Lochlan Bunn. Lochy has been writing reusable components, with various levels of failure, at the local product house Rex Labs.
Themeable email templates with MJML - Ben O'Neal- 20 min
Who likes making email templates? Not me! But this month Ben is going to teach us how to build a complete brandable email templating solution that doesn't suck.
Anna Gerber Presents: the great Typescript Debate
TypeScript: “Handy Helper, or Harmful Hindrance?” This month Kory and Josh will duke it out for and against TypeScript and strongly typed languages!
Should Javascript proper support types? Does a compilation step ruin all the fun? Why are we arguing? Prepare all your burning questions to ask our caped crusaders on the night.
