Pine Barrens 6 Mile Loop Hike - Franklin Parker Preserve

This will be a 6 mile round trip moderately paced, mostly flat hike on wooded paths through the pine forest and on compacted sand roads along former cranberry bogs. Along the way we will pass many picturesque streams, bogs and ponds.

We will begin introductions at 10:30am near the chain link gate at the far end of the parking lot. Be sure to navigate to the "Franklin Parker Preserve - Chatsworth Lake Entrance" (not any other entrances). There is usually a portapotty available in the parking lot. There are no other facilities on the trail.

Hiking shoes strongly recommended. Some muddy patches can be expected if there is recent rain. Dress for the weather in layers. Bring water and feel free to pack a lunch that can be eaten at the halfway point on the trail.

Members of all skill levels, whether using an iPhone or DSLR, will have many opportunities for photos while we are walking on this hike.
