What we’re about
Are you looking for new friends with similar values and world views? Hoping to build your LGBTQIA+ community in Connecticut? Then this is the group for you.
Primarily for folks in their 20's and 30's, Building the Rainbow is open to members of any gender, sexuality, and background. We hope to cultivate genuine, supportive friendships with other queer folks through monthly activities, from book crawls to arts and crafts nights and more. Events will take place across Connecticut and highlight small businesses and public spaces that make our state feel like home.

Walk, Talk & Brunch
Weir Farm, 735 Nod Hill Road, Wilton, CT, USJoin us for the first event in our Walk, Talk & Brunch series, where we'll visit a Connecticut town for a meal, some exploring and shopping, and a walk at a nearby park or forest. This is a great way to see different parts of the state and stretch your legs, especially during the colder months when we all need some extra motivation to get outside.
***PLEASE NOTE: DETAILS HAVE CHANGED!***
We'll meet at Weir Farm National Historical Park in Wilton starting at 11:30 A.M. Abby will be near the park's entrance with bagels, cream cheese, and coffee if you'd like to have a bite and mingle. Then, around 12:00 P.M. A.M., we'll begin a nature walk, which will be two miles and last approximately one hour. Please wear sturdy shoes and layers! If you'd rather relax, benches are available for lounging and sunning near the park's entrance. After our walk, we'll drive a short distance to Ridgefield center, home to a great independent bookstore, candy & ice cream shop, and several cute boutiques.
You can attend for one, two, or all three portions, just let us know which!
Please make sure you join our Discord server before the event and check in with #walk-talk-and-brunch-november-2 for details and directions. We can also help you coordinate a carpool, if needed.
As always, this is a substance-free event to support our friends in recovery. Please plan on skipping alcoholic beverages at brunch and abstaining from cannabis. Thanks for understanding!
