ADHD Impact on Siblings & the Whole Family - Tues Nov 4, 7:00 - 8:30pm
Details
Navigating life with ADHD can be tough! When one child is neurodiverse, the whole family feels it. Siblings can feel particularly impacted in ways that they experience parenting styles, differing expectations, and opportunities to express their own thoughts and feelings. It's crucial to acknowledge sibling experiences and provide space for everyone to be seen and heard. Through psychoeducational tools, real-life examples, and collaborative conversations, we will talk through all the ways to not only support your ADHD kiddo, but their siblings too. It’s not about “fixing” anyone — it’s about learning to work together and find systems to support the family unit as a whole.
Lauren Romeo, LPC, LMHC is a child/teen therapist and Clinical Team Lead at the Center for Family Empowerment (CFE) in Jenkintown. She works with clients of various ages and presenting concerns, especially those working to navigate their neurodiversity and figure out the tools to help them thrive. Lauren has completed ADHD, ASD, and Neurodiversity Specialist trainings to best support this population. Most importantly, Lauren operates from a strengths-based perspective to highlight the incredible qualities these individuals possess. Although these neurodiverse kids and teens might share a diagnosis, she likes to think of them like snowflakes - each person is unique, so tailoring her approach specifically to every client who walks through the door is key!
