What we’re about
Cambridge Core Shamanism offers shamanic courses and workshops from one day in length, up to the three-year shamanic practitioner training.
Core Shamanism is not bound to any specific cultural group but aims to reconnect those who have lost their connection with nature, spiritual allies, and ancestors with their legitimate spiritual heritage.
Training at the CCS includes teaching students how to alter their consciousness through drumming, discover their personal spiritual resources, transform their lives, and learn how to help others.
“Shamanism is not a belief system. It's based on personal experiments conducted to heal, to get information, or do other things.” – Michael Harner
All courses are supported by the IPHM.
Monthly Journey Circle is a great way to introduce yourself to the group and start your journey into new spiritual insights and experiences.
The Spirit of the Wand Workshop 27/7/24 will help you explore nature magic by empowering your wand, work with the spirit of the wand, and attune yourself to Ogam tree energy.

This workshop-retreat will help you develop a sustainable daily nondual-shamanic practice. This 1/2-day event engages both with mystical practices for insight and shamanic journey practices for transformation and genuine contact with helping spirits in the inner realms.
Matthew will introduce you to the essential elements to create a successful daily practice that combines shamanic journeys and formless mysticism.
You will learn to:- Travel to the inner realm of the Ancient Ones and connect with compassionate and supportive spirits.
- Experience a direct transmission of the unconditioned natural state of consciousness and learn other practical formless mysticism practices.
- Explore deity mysticism and receive a transmission of divine energies to open consciousness.
- Learn the essential elements of building a sustainable daily non-dual-shamanic practice.
- Receive an optional initiation into the Way of the Mystic-Wizard, a living inner-world tradition that can support your growth.
You will leave this mini retreat with all you need to explore the Way of the Mystic Wizard and access all the free online materials that support the path. The Way of the Mystic-Wizard is based on Matthew's two decades of teaching. He directly transmits and introduces the nondual Presence and teaches people how to enter the inner world through guided pathworking journeys.
The goal of The Way of the Mystic Wizard is to develop direct access to the formless Presence and the inner world of compassionate helping spirits. These two connections are the foundation for a daily practice that leads to a transformed sense of self, an increased feeling of well-being and purpose, and the start of genuine life mastery.
Entry Requirements: - The retreat is open to all with a genuine interest in the path described.
- If you are unsure if this course is the right fit, please see Matthew's website for more information at: http://matthewthomasbaker.com. There you will find access to free materials and a link to where his book, the Way of the Mystic-Wizard, can be purchased. Purchasing the book is not a requirement to attend the workshop.
Note: The retreat will not be recorded and is an experiential live event that involves a sacred ceremony.
