What we’re about
We are a regular Meetup group for software developers in Cambridge who care about and take pride in what they do, how they do it, and what effect their work has on society.
Take a moment to read the Software Craftsmanship Manifesto that underpins our commitment to quality in software engineering.
Software Crafters Cambridge operates the Berlin Code of Conduct to ensure a friendly and welcoming environment for all, regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, lifestyle, technology choices, career choices, or indeed any form of "othering" not listed here.
We want to curate a program of events that meet the needs and interests of our members. Please take a moment to complete this short anonymous form to tell us your preferences. You can also contact Natalie Gray at natalie.gray@codurance.com to discuss any aspect of the community - topics, themes, speaking, hosting etc.
We hope to meet you soon!

See all- Build with AI: Architecture Kata - Cambridge Tech Week Special! The Bradfield Centre, Cambridge
For our September meetup and to celebrate Cambridge Tech Week, we will be hosting a very special Architecture Kata with an AI flavour!
What's the format?
You'll be split into groups and have a business problem to solve. You'll be tasked with designing a technical architecture to meet that problem context. As with real-life you'll have to manage various trade-offs in your design and interact with a Product Owner to clarify your questions.
At the end of the task you will showcase your architecture and technology choices back to the wider group as part of a group discussion and you'll be able to decide if you'd make any decisions differently after receiving feedback and seeing what other groups designed.
This session is all about collaborative learning, skill enhancement and networking in a relaxed environment. You don’t need to be experienced in Architecture to participate.
This is an excellent opportunity to try out Software Architecture in a collaborative, supportive and fun environment.
The session will be led by Daniel Vaughan, a Cloud Native Architect and Google Developer Expert.
Food and Drinks
Pizza and drinks will be provided upon arrival, with vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options available.Want to bring a friend? Great! Just ask them to RSVP so we know they are coming.
No need to bring your laptop this time, we will provide pens, paper and post-its for each group.
