ASP.NET MVC Security with 2FA and 2FV – Richard Elberger
One of the best ways we can build trust with our customers and protect our organizations is through application security. This is especially important to Australia’s Federal and State Agencies as Cybercrime and Cyber Espionage risks increase.
Authentication is meant to verify identity. Traditional, single-factor password based authentication is no longer enough to protect our users and organizations. Although two-factor authentication (2FA) and verification (2FV) have been available to ASP.NET for some time, with Visual Studio 2013 Update 3 the MVC templates have been updated to support those authentication scenarios. In this talk we will explore the new Visual Studio templates, see how two factor authentication and verification works in both internet and enterprise contexts, and take a brief look ahead at the possibilities of multi-factor authentication.
