Meet at the National Gallery of Australia - inside, near the Gift Shop

We're returning to the NGA. Several galleries are reopening and a new exhibition of Australian women modernist artists, Know My Name: Making it Modern, is scheduled to open on the 5th of August. Afterwards, there will be a table for 8 people booked for 12:00 at the Portrait Gallery - please leave a "yes for lunch" in the comments to reserve your spot. We may well be able to have more than 8 there, it just depends on how busy the cafe is on the day.
The way the group works is that anyone who wishes to present finds a piece of art at the NGA that interests them, they research any aspect of that item and present at the meeting in front of the artwork itself. It's important to be aware that there's a continuing changeover program operating that means that a work of interest one month may not be on display the next. It's a good idea to check!
This group is a kind, non-judgmental one and all presentations are valued. It's best if presentations are about 10 minutes, allowing for the inevitable discussion! We generally have lots to discuss so please arrive early enough for a prompt 10:30 start.
