Nursery Swamp

Walk into Nursery Swamp from the Orroral Road. This return walk is about 10.5 km overall, with a steep start to cross the ridge line to the west of the Orroral valley. Once over the ridge, the walk is largely across open marshy woodland. There will be boardwalk where the track crosses delicate areas. The walk will take us to a point overlooking a large fen, where we will taking a break before returning to the carpark.

Four places on this walk will be reserved for first time walkers. Note, though, that these places will not be available to a guest of a first time walker. If you are a first time walker, and RSVP with a guest, you do so knowing that your guest may not get a place on the going list.

Meet at the carpark at the entrance to the Namadgi Visitors Centre. We will carpool from there to the carpark at the start of the Nursery Swamp walk on Orroral Rd.

NB: Those participating in the walk are responsible for their own safety and well being, should be adequately prepared, have appropriate clothing and have sufficient food and water for their individual needs.
