With a long history of tango dancing in the Edmonton area, Casa Tango is a large social group and dance school of the beautiful, passionate dance - Argentine Tango. Here, you can learn to dance tango as an absolute beginner, increase your skills through practice sessions (practicas) and socials (milongas), and meet many exciting people who share the love of dancing, the passion of life and the fondness for music!

Come enjoy an evening of tango, right here in Edmonton. This workshop is a complete introduction to Argentine tango aimed at complete beginners. If you have ever seen tango and wanted to try it, this is your chance! The workshop will cover a brief history of the dance, its rhythm, timing, social etiquette, as well as basic moves and combinations that will let you take your first steps in tango and show you how to dance it on the floor. Come and see if the passion of tango is for you!
👉 DETAILS:
- No Partner Needed. We rotate partners throughout the class and many people come alone.
- No Experience Necessary. The workshop is designed for those new to tango. All workshop students have no previous experience.
- Bring Change of Shoes. Please bring a second pair of shoes to preserve the dance floor. Leather soles are preferred, if possible.
- Wear Relaxed Clothing. This is not a formal event, so wear comfortable clothes, appropriate to dancing and moving.

Join us for a magical introduction to the world’s most passionate and elegant dance—Argentine Tango! This beginner-friendly series focuses on the fundamentals of social tango in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. No experience or partner needed—just come ready to move, connect, and explore! You’ll learn key elements like posture, balance, embrace, walking, leading/following, musicality, and more. We'll also introduce tango etiquette and traditions to enrich your experience. This class is perfect for beginners. With our teaching method, you will learn to improvise from the very beginning. Come dance, connect, and start your tango journey with us!
