The organisers and members of this group are from all over but love the city of Canberra. This beautiful city known as Australia's bush capital makes us the rangers of the bush. That's how we got the name Canberra Rangers . Now we are different breed of rangers.
The Rangers carry all kind of fun social activities. We have your indoor and outdoor fix.
We welcome everyone young at heart to make new friends, create memories and have an adventure in the bush capital.
Membership Agreement
Introduction
- As a member of the Canberra Rangers Social Events Meetup Group, you agree to adhere to, and uphold the values and expectations placed on all members of this group. This group is committed to providing all members an inclusive and supportive environment, with zero tolerance towards bullying and/or other forms of unacceptable behaviour.
- Membership of this group is based on the count of ‘Rangers', this being the total of individual members as listed on the MeetUp platform.
Vision
3. The Canberra Rangers vision is to support personal growth and development through an uplifting culture that fosters participation and collaboration amongst members.
4. Canberra Rangers will achieve this vision by promoting an inclusive, diverse and open community group that organises events for likeminded people to connect.
Membership – Mandatory Requirements
5. Membership of this group, requires all individual members (current or prospective) to possess and maintain:
a. A clear profile picture that establishes their identity.
b. An appropriate name related to their identity. Nicknames are acceptable. Names that are false and/or misleading are not acceptable.
c. True and accurate answers to all questions and statements posed at the time of joining.
d. An Attendance Record that includes no more than 3 x “No Show” responses to events the member has RSVPed to. This includes changing RSVP at the last minute as per paragraph 15.
e. Actively participates in the group by visiting the Group Page at a frequency no greater than every 3 months.
6. Where a prospective member does not meet the requirements noted in paragraph 5, their request shall be declined upon review by one the Group’s Leadership Team.
7. Where an event permits a guest(s) to be invited, the guest(s) shall be subject to the same values and expectations placed on a current member (of the group) for the duration of their attendance to the event.
8. The Group Organiser reserves the right to review Group memberships and remove from the group any member who does not meet the requirements of paragraph 5.
9. If a member is removed from the group, they are welcome make a request to rejoin. Though, consideration should be given to reason for the removal from the group, and whether the group aligns with the member’s values and commitments.
Event Attendance
10. When an event is organised by, and/or on behalf of the Group’s Leadership Team, it is the responsibility of each individual member to manage their attendance to that event.
11. A response shall only be required for those who wish to attend that event.
12. At the discretion of the Event Organiser, a Wait List may be used and/or required to manage attendance for the safety and/or enjoyment of all members attending.
13. In the event you are unable to attend an event, it is the responsibility of the member / attendee to advise the Event Organiser at their earliest opportunity. As a courtesy, a message to the Event Organiser or a message added to the event page would be appreciated. This includes members currently on the waitlist of an individual event.
14. At the discretion of the Event Organiser, failure to provide a suitable reason for not attending an event less than 12 hours prior to the event shall result in the member’s RSVP being noted as a “No Show”.
15. Where a member repeatedly changes their RSVP at the last minute or fails to attend without providing a suitable reason (“No Show”), the member shall have their membership to the group reviewed by the Group’s Leadership Team.
16. Where an event requires members to meet suitability requirements (eg. Fitness Levels, and/or Personal Safety), the Event Organiser reserves the right to confirm a member’s attendance subject to them meeting the suitability requirements.
17. Events shall commence on time, and it shall be the responsibility of each attendee to ensure their arrival does not delay the event from commencing on time. If a member arrives late, it is their responsibility to catch up (if the event involves a physical activity such as walking, and it is safe to do so), or their arrival does not affect the enjoyment of other attendees.
18. Please seek permission from members before taking photos/videos/recordings at events.
Behaviours and Responsibilities
19. This group is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment that includes welcoming new members and respecting exiting members.
20. All members shall be treated with respect, honesty and integrity. Be kind and respectful to each other. Treat your fellow group members with the empathy, dignity, and respect they deserve.
21. Bullying, harassment, and/or other forms of unacceptable behaviour is not tolerated under any circumstances. Any Member(s) involved in such behaviour shall have their Group Membership reviewed at the discretion of the Group’s Leadership Team.
22. All comments, criticisms, negative remarks towards the group, and event and/or another member within the group are to be kept out of the Public Forum. If a member has any feedback relevant to the group, an event and/or an individual, the member shall contact the Group’s Leadership Team directly to discuss the matter in private. Public communication cannot be controlled within the group, and may reach the wider community, including people you may not know. When making comments, consider whether your message could be misunderstood by someone with a different perspective or unintentionally trigger an adverse situation.
23. If at any time a member has concerns for their personal safety and needs to leave an event, please inform the Event Host / Organiser. Your safety is our priority, and we strive to ensure all actions are taken to promote a safe environment for everyone.
24. All comments made in the Public Forum (Group / Event Pages) are to remain factual, respectful, and relevant to the forum they are posted in. The posting of any comment (directly or indirectly) deemed inappropriate, defamatory, and/or personally offensive shall be deleted immediately, and the member responsible for the post/comment shall have their membership to the group reviewed by the Group’s Leadership Team.
25. Instances of personal disputes, unsolicited contact, private harassment, unacceptable behaviour, and/or inappropriate actions involving another member is not tolerated within the group. All instances are to be brought to the attention of the Group Organiser (or a member of the Group’s Leadership Team in their absence) so that appropriate action can be taken immediately to resolve the situation.
26. The Group’s Leadership Team is here to support each and every member of the group and will be responsible taking the appropriate action (where necessary) to maintain the integrity of this group, and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all members.
