The Obsidian Trail, 2129' e.g. 11 miles, 1 night

Details
An Oregon must do--the Obsidian Trail! Mark my words, many parts of the trail are other-worldly--like a field of diamonds! Seek this trail out on Alltrails. The views will be epic. Excellent views of North and Middle Sister! Two years ago, mind you, we hit the trail in July and had to turn back due to the skeeters. Come August most will be gone!
The trail is an 11 mile lollipop loop. Depending on the direction, around the halfway mark, the trail intersects with the PCT. And just before that you come across one of the two waterfalls you'll cross. There's a secret campsite above one of them. For this group of four, and that it's a midweek traverse, the likelihood of nabbing the site is high.
This adventure is recommended for both beginner's* and seasoned backpackers alike.
A weather update will be posted within a couple of days of the event.
*As a beginner, you have the gear, and have participated in a few 1 night hikes before--and somewhat recently (over the given year or two).
