What we’re about
If your passion is photography, join us to be inspired, learn, explore, and share.
We are a friendly group for beginners, professionals, and everyone else in between who simply love to shoot photographs. We can all learn from one another about taking better photos, seeing different places, meeting new people, and having lots of fun. If you use a Mirrorless, DSLR/SLR, Film, Point & Shoot, iPhones, Disposable Cameras . . . join us!
We try to do one in-person photo walk every month, during which we collect our
regular $3 dues. Then, we meet on Zoom, usually the first Tuesday, to share photos from our walks. Watch for all upcoming events.

See all- Photographer Critique: Candid or Informal Portraits, The Zoom CallNeeds location
Image reviews or critiques don't have to be scary! Sharing your work in a nurturing, supportive environment can help you make better photos.
* Share work you are really proud of.
* Share work you have struggled with.
* Share work that didn't work out.Assignment: For this "Critique" Zoom meeting, share 2 Candid or Informal Portraits. "Portraits" can be of many things (self, street, etc.). You decide, but your photos must have at least one person.
Upload your 2 photos for the critique to Dropbox link when it gets posted below.
Our "critiquer," Pete Morton, began taking pictures in 1959. In the 1980’s he spent many hours in the darkroom, but in 2001 Pete became an avid Adobe Photoshop user. Soon his darkroom was replaced by this new-found software. After retiring from NIH, Pete joined the Silver Spring Camera Club where he is currently a director and frequent presenter. He is also very active in the Photographic Society of America (PSA). Pete has received numerous awards, both local and international, and has been recognized by his club as the Photographer of the Year. His work has hung in the Maryland State House. Pete is a MPA-Certified Photography Judge and Critiquer.
