Jazz in the Garden (National Gallery of Art)

So excited! I finally won lottery tickets for the National Gallery of Art's Jazz in the Garden held outdoors in the Sculpture Garden. This week's musical group is the Lao Tizer Band; an Oasis Jazz Award nominee for Jazz Group of the Year. In its return to Jazz in the Garden, the band showcases its new album AMPLIFY.

This summertime concert series is held every Friday evening and this will be my first time attending. Gates open at 5pm if anyone wants to grab a seat early. We can enter together or I can forward screenshots of the passes so we can enter individually.

Seating: Seating is first-come, first-served, and mostly on our grass.

We recommend bringing a blanket or small folding chair to sit in the grass, but please no tents, large folding tables, or beach umbrellas.

Getting there: The Sculpture Garden is located on the north side of the National Mall between 7th and 9th Streets NW. You can enter from Madison Drive, Constitution Avenue, or 7th Street beginning at 5:00 p.m.

We recommend taking public transportation. The nearest Metro stations are Archives-Navy Memorial Penn Quarter (Green/Yellow), and Smithsonian (Blue/Orange/Silver). Metrobuses stop along Constitution Avenue NW. There’s no parking garage on our campus, and parking on the surrounding streets is limited.

Food and drink: You'll be able to buy refreshments in the Sculpture Garden. You are also welcome to bring picnics, but please note that outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
