Check Mates is a monthly Sunday Chess Hangout made for people who enjoy sharpen their chess game and meeting like-minded people in Rotterdam. All taking place is cool spots around the city, like micro-brewery Kaapse Maria and cultural centre Worm/Wunderbar.

Open for all levels, from beginners to 2000+ Elo, we match tables.

Julie and Matthijs started this open chess community, because playing chess offline is an unique social opportunity to hang out, connect and meet new people. Within 3 month's our community is more than 120 people and we're growing fast.
